Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

No short-term terrestrial toxicity test data is available for diamine ethoxylates. One long-term terrestrial test was performed with tallow based diamine ethoxylate (CAS No 90367 -27 -4).

The effects of tallow based diamine ethoxylate (CAS No 90367 -27 -4) o

n mortality, biomass and reproduction of Eisenia fetida was tested according to OECD 222 under a static exposure for 56 days. Natural soil was used as substrate, and the different concentration of the substance mixed with the substrate. The concentrations applied were 62.5, 125, 250, 500 and 1000 mg/kg soil dry weight. In addition tests using control and vehicle control were performed.

The test is valid without restrictions and the results are reliable. After 28 days of exposure, no effects on survival of the adult worms were observed in all concentrations.  However, at 1000 mg/kg soil dry weight the biomass increase was statistically significantly reduced compared to the control

After a further four weeks, compared to the control, the reproduction rate was statistically significantly reduced at 1000 mg/kg soil dry weight. All other tested application rates showed no statistically significant reduction compared to the control.  Hence, the NOEC was determined to be 500 mg/kg dw soil.
