Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The presence of certain groups in the substance K-36 may indicate explosive properties (ex: C-C unsaturation). Thus, we can´t conclude on the absence of explosive properties only on this criterion. As K-36 contains other atoms than C, H or O, the oxygen balance formula is not applicable. The information concerning exothermic reactions were obtained from a melting point test on K-36. During this test, a DSC analysis was performed. A Sampleof K-36 was charged to an aluminium DSC crucible and was ramped from 25 °C to 400 °C at 4 K.min-1 .
The result of the test shows that the exothermic decomposition energy is less than 500 J/g.

non explosive

Additional information

Thus it can be concluded that K-36 is not classified as an explosive according to the data available and the present screening procedure.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Based on the low exothermic decomposition energy observed with K-36, it can be concluded that K-36 is not classified as explosive according to CLP criteria.
