Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The substance is an acid chloride, a type of substances which are well known to decompose in water. Other aromatic acid chlorides have half lives of few minutes, so it is reasonable to assume that 2,4-Dichlorobenzoyl chloride will have a half life time in this time range, too.

It is also known that the aquatic tocicity of 2,4-Dichlorobenzoyl chlorides was determined usind only the hydrolysis product as the acid chloride itself was instable under test conditions.

Therefore only one calculated value for the scid chloride itself is given while read across from the hydrolysis product is the key value for water solubility.

Water solubility is assumed to be very low with 0,0025 mol / L.
