- Justification for type of information:
- In the absence of inhalation toxicity data, the Panel determined that Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Hydrogenated Jojoba Oil, Jojoba Esters, and Jojoba Alcohol can be used safely in hair sprays, because the ingredient particle size is not respirable. The Panel reasoned that the particle size of aerosol hair sprays (-38 μm) and pump hair sprays (>80 μm) is large compared to respirable particulate sizes (#10 μm).
