Description of key information

The test item is in the 1 to 10 tonnage band, therefore only REACH annex VII studies are required.

To comply with annex VII requirements, two studies have been performed: - OECD 201 and OECD 202. While the substance is a complex natural mixture, i.e. essentoil oil with dozens of constituents (some known some not), it has net been possible to perform studies based on lead substance indicators. By the way, it was known that the essential oil wal very poorly soluble, therefore, following OECD 23 on difficult substances, WAF studies were perform.

Both studies shown chemical adverse effects.

The most sensible speciy was invertebrate (Daphnia magna) with a EC50 of 19.6 mg test item/L (loading rate).

This result leas to an environmental classfiication of Aquatic chronic 3 (based on the fact that the susbtance is considered as ready biodegradable).
