Conclusions:
In the present study conducted according to OECD guideline 423 (adopted 17 December, 2001), GLP compliant in total 6 female Sprague-Dawley rats were administered 5-Fluorocytosine in a dose of 2000 mg/kg bw. After administration of the test item the animals were observed for 14 days and subsequently sacificed and subjected to necropsy. There were no clinical signs observed, no premature death occurred and no abnormalties were found during gross necropsy. Therefore, the substance does not need to be classified according to Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 (CLP) and the Globally Harmonized System for Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS) with respect to acute oral toxicity.
