Conclusion on classification

For bis trifluoromethanesulfonimide lithium ecotoxicity data are available for three trophic levels (fish, aquatic invertebrates and alga). From these data the lowest effect values are observed in daphnia (48h EC50 of 14 mg/l). According to Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008 for the Classification, Labelling and Packaging of Substances and Mixtures (CLP), Bis trifluoromethanesulfonimide lithium is to be classified as harmful to the aquatic environment category Chronic 3; H412 (Harmful to aquatic life with long lasting effects). According to Directive 67/548/EEC for the Classification, Packaging and Labelling of Dangerous Substances, the substance is to be classified as R52/53 (harmful to aquatic organisms, may cause long-term adverse effects in the aquatic environment) based on the non-rapid degradability and the daphnia 48h EC50 of 14 mg/L.
