Two acute toxicity tests were available for DOWANOL PGDA. Both tests were considered reliable with a Klimisch score of 1 and both followed the appropriate guidelines and GLP requirements. A short-term aquatic toxicity test was conducted with the freshwater guppy, Poecilia reticulata, for 96 -hrs exposed to propane-1,2 -diyl diacetate (DOWANOL PGDA) with mortality as the endpoint. The test followed OECD 203, met GLP requirements and therefore was consider the key study with a Klimisch score of 1. Test concentrations were set at 18, 32, 56, 100, 180, 320, 560 mg/L with a laboratory water control (DSW). The 96 -hr LC50 value was 82 mg/L (C.I. 72 - 97 mg/L). The No Observed Effect Concnetration (NOEC) was calcuated to be 32 mg/L. A short-term aquatic invertebrate toxicity test was conducted with the freshwater cladoceran, Daphnia magna, for 48 -hrs exposed to propane-1,2 -diyl diacetate (PGDA) with endpoints consisiting of immobilization and mortality. The test followed OECD 202, met GLP requirements and therefore was consider the key study with a Klimisch score of 1. Test concentrations were set at 32, 56, 100, 180, 320, 560 and 1000 mg/L with a laboratory water control (DSW). The 48 -hr LC50 and EC50 values were both 237 mg/L (C.I. 207 - 294). The No Observed Effect Concentration was 100 mg/L.
