Aluminium nitrate is not described in its anhydrous form as it is only stable in the hydrate form. Therefore the physical chemical properties tests were performed on the stable nonahydrate form. The nonahydrate form is a white crystalline solid which has a melting point of 73 °C. It is moderately soluble in water at a solubility of 429.9 mg/L at 25 °C. It is usually marketed in an aqueous solution and does not possess any groups associated with explosive or flammable properties. It therefore is considered to be non-explosive and not classified as flammable.
