Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Log Pow of polycarboxylic acid:

0.8 at 23°C and at pH 7

Log Pow of alkanolamine:

-2.3 at 25°C and at pH 7

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

As the test substance is a mixture of 2 compounds (polycarboxylic acid and alkanolamine) thus the partiton coefficient has been derived from the single compound. The representative compound for polycarboxylic acid is referred to the substance with CAS number 80584-91-4 and the representative compound for alkanolamine is referred to the substance with CAS number 102-71-6.

The experimental data on partition coefficient of each compound are as follows:

1) Polycarboxylic acid:

log Pow1= 0.8 at pH 7

log Pow2= <0.3 at pH 2.1 (non-ionized form)

2) Alkanolamine:

logPow= -2.3 at pH 7

logPow= -1.34 at pH 9.5
