Description of key information
The partition coefficient of Ethylbenzene, manuf. of, distn. residues, distn. lights. was determined using HPLC-UV according to OECD guideline 117 and Eu Method A8. The partition coefficient of the test material was determined to be in the range 2700 to greater than 3160000 and log10Pow was estimated to be in the range 3.43 to greater than 6.5.

Preliminary investigations showed that the test item was not surface active and the definitive test was carried out. The partition coefficient of the test material was determined to be in the range 2700 to greater than 3160000 and log10Pow was estimated to be in the range 3.43 to greater than 6.5. Based on this information, Ethylbenzene, manuf. of, distn. residues, distn. lights. can potentially accumulate in the environment. Using area normalisation, 100% of the test item gave a log10Pow of greater than 3 and 7% gave a log10Pow of greater than 6.5.
