Ethylbenzene, manuf. of, distn. residues, distn. lights. is reported to be a homogeneous translucent pale yellow liquid free from particulate matter

with a melting point of below -50oC and a boiling point of 234.2 °C by DSC. The average density of Ethylbenzene, manuf. of, distn. residues, distn. lights. is reported to be 0.8972 g/cm3at 20oC. The vapour pressure of Ethylbenzene, manuf. of, distn. residues, distn. lights. was determined to be XXX. The partition coefficient (Pow) was found to be in the range 2700 to greater than 3160000 and log10Pow was estimated to be in the range 3.43 to greater than 6.5. It is not expected to be surface active based on the preliminary investigations made in the partition coefficient study. The solubility of Ethylbenzene, manuf. of, distn. residues, distn. lights. was determined to be 92.7 mg/L at 22 ⁰C according to the flask method . The flash point of Ethylbenzene, manuf. of, distn. residues, distn. lights. is reported to be 82.5oC using the Pensky-Martins closed cup flash point; the auto-ignition temperature is reported to be 396 ± 5oC.

The substance is non-flammable, non-explosive and without oxidising properties. Testing for the explosive and oxidising properties is not proposed and is not considered to be justified on scientific grounds based on the chemical structure of Ethylbenzene, manuf. of, distn. residues, distn. lights..
