Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

logPow values of the two organic constituents are: -1.36 and -1.98 respectively.

According to the criteria for adaptation of the testing rules, a test is not required if the substance is inorganic, therefore a logPow determination for the sodium acetate component is not required.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Log Kow (Log Pow):
-1.62
at the temperature of:
20 °C

Additional information

Taking a simple weight average of the known composition extremes suggests that the logPow will be in the range -1.61 to -1.63 when considering the organic components only. The midway value of -1.62 is selected as the key value for chemical safety assessment. Sodium acetate, as an inorganic substance, will have no contribution towards a logKow determination (the end point is waived for inorganics) and can therefore be ignored for determining the critical value for this end point.
