Pre-Test

After evaluation the following values were recorded:

Values Pre-Test

Room Temperature

5.3 °C

-20.7 °C

-80 °C

Slightly yellow and viscous liquid

Slightly yellow, cloudy and flowable

Harder than at 5.3 °C, but still piercable, not flowable, like hard oil

Solid, like ice

The surface was proved with a long thin wire.

After performance of the pre-test, the sponsor was consulted. As according to REGULATION (EC) No 1907/2006 OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL, Annex VII, dated 18. December 2006 (last amended by Commission Regulation (EU) 2016/2235 of 12 December 2016), the determination of the melting / freezing point does not need to be conducted below a lower limit of - 20 °C; therefore no main test was per-formed.

Conclusions:
In a pre-test, the test item LUMULSE GMT-K was still unfrozen at – 20 °C.
At -80 °C the test item was frozen. According to REGULATION (EC) No 1907/2006 OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL, Annex VII, dated 18. December 2006 (and further amendments) by Commission Regulation, the determination of the melting/freezing point does not need to be conducted below a lower limit of - 20 °C.
Therefore, no additional test was conducted and the freezing point is stated as:
< - 20 °C (< 253.15 K).
Executive summary:

Determination of the melting point of LUMULSE GMT-K according to OECD 102 resp. EU A.1

Findings and Results:

Description of key information

The freezing point is stated as:

< - 20 °C (< 253.15 K).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Melting / freezing point at 101 325 Pa:
-20 °C

Additional information
