Description of key information

Hydrolysis:

Due to the presence of pyridinium and aldehyde being part of the test substance chemical structure which are not susceptible towards hydrolysis, a hydrolysis test was not performed. Abiotic degradation of the substance within the aquatic environment is not expected.

Biodegradation:

The substance is considered to be readily biodegradable, but failing the 10-days window based on the results of an experimental study according to OECD 301D under GLP.

Adsorption:

An adsorption of the substance to organic sediments and soils is not expected due to the low Log Kow of 0.71, which indicates no adsorption potential.
