JUSTIFICATION FOR DATA WAIVING
In accordance with section 1 of REACh Annex XI, study for explosive properties is deemed unnecessary based on the experience in handling and use of the substance. No experience in handling and use of the registered substance has been reported, which could cast doubt on the NON-explosivity of the extract.
Moreover, in accordance with column 2 of REACh Annex VII, the study does not need to be conducted if there are no chemical groups associated with explosive properties present in the molecule. According to Regulation (EC) N°1272/2008 (CLP) criteria and screening procedure (as listed in appendix 6 to the UN Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods - Manual of Tests and Criteria (6th revised edition, 2015) or in the ECHA endpoint specific guidance on information requirements (R.7a, v6.0, July 2017, §R.7.1.11), NO REACTIVE GROUP was identified in the list of known constituents of the substance.
Finally, DSC screening tests have been conducted on other natural complex substances, such as labdanum gum and cistus absolute SIS and the results showed that no explosive properties are anticipated on this kind of substances.
Therefore, explosive properties are not anticipated for the registered susbtance and the acceptance procedure for Class 1 explosives shall not apply. No further testing was considered.
