Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The study does not need to be conducted because the substance is a strong acid (pH 2.0) or base (pH 11.5).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Skin sensitisation

Endpoint conclusion
Endpoint conclusion:
no study available
Additional information:

The pH for the two separate definitive test samples was 2.06 and 2.08 at the substance water solubility of 3.19 g/L. The test item has also been shown to be surface active and, as a result, it is not possible to identify a concentration below 3.19 g/L where skin sensitisation should be considered as a separate issue.

Respiratory sensitisation

Endpoint conclusion
Endpoint conclusion:
no study available

Justification for classification or non-classification

Corrosivity is expected to be the predominant effect because the test item is known to be surface active. Investigation of skin sensitisation and subsequent classification is therefore not appropriate under the terms of Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008.
