- Details on sampling:
- Duplicate samples from the freshly prepared test media of the only test concentration and the control were taken at the start of the test.
For the determination of the stability of the test item under the test conditions, respectively the maintenance of the test item concentrations during the test period, duplicate samples were taken in duplicates out of the only test medium and the control at the end of the test after 96 hours of exposure.
The concentration of the test item Y-15821 were analysed in the duplicate test media samples of the test concentration of nominal 100 mg test item/L from both sampling times (0 and 96 hours). From the control samples only one of the duplicate samples was analysed from each of - Vehicle:
- no
- Details on test solutions:
- 100 mg test item/L. Additionally, a control was tested in parallel (test water without addition of the test item).
A limit test was performed in accordance with the Commission Directive 92/69/EEC to demonstrate that the test item has no toxic effect on the test fish up to the concentration of nominal 100 mg test item/L.
The medium of the only test concentration of nominal 100 mg/L was prepared by dissolving 3x500 mg test item into 3x50000 mL test water by intense stirring for 24 hours. - Test organisms (species):
- Oncorhynchus mykiss (previous name: Salmo gairdneri)
- Details on test organisms:
- Species: Rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss)
Age and Size: Juveniles
The mean body length of the fish* in the test was 4.34 +/- 0.19 cm (Mean +/- SD), the mean body wet weight 0.66 +/- 0.08 g (Mean +/- SD).
* 10 fish from the test fish batch were measured during the course of the test
Sex: Male and female
Origin: The test fish were obtained from Forellenzuchtbetrieb Tautenhahn, 98646 Trostadt, Germany
Holding Conditions: In accordance with the test guidelines the fish were held in test water in the laboratories of IBACON for at least 12 days prior to the start of the test without any medication. During holding until one day before test start the fish
were fed with a commercial fish diet for Rainbow trout. During the last 7 days prior to the start of the test no fish died in the test fish batch and all fish were healthy
Acclimatisation: For at least 12 days before the start of the test the fish were acclimated to the test water and test temperature. - Test type:

- Conclusions:
- The toxic effect of the test item Y-15821 to Rainbow Trout was assessed in a static limit test. The 96-hour LC50 value was > 100 mg test item/L.
- Executive summary:
The 96-hour LC50 value was > 100 mg test item/L. No mortality or signs of toxicity were abserved in any treated fish at 100mg test item/L.
