Remarks on result:
other: mean of 3 replicate measurements, corrected for atmospheric pressure

Preliminary test:

The flash point that was observed is 106°C.

Main test:

Three replicate measurements were performed. The flashpoint temperature was corrected to atmospheric pressure 101.3 kPa.

Replicate Flash point (°C) Pressure (kPa) corrected temperature (°C)
1 108.0 99.58 108.4
2 107.0 99.58 107.4

Interpretation of results:
GHS criteria not met
Conclusions:
The test item has a flash point of 107.8°C at atmospheric pressure.
Executive summary:

The flash point was determined according to EU Method A.9, closed cup method Pensky-Martens apparatus. Three replicate measurements were performed and the flash point was found to be 107.8 °C, corrected to atmospheric pressure.

Description of key information

There is one study available in which the flash point of the test item was assessed experimentally according to EU Method A.9, closed cup method, Pensky-Martens apparatus. The test item was found to have a flash point of 107.8°C at atmospheric pressure (101 325 Pa).

According to the criteria described in CLP Regulation EC 1272/2008, liquids with a flash point > 60°C do not require classification as a flammable liquid. Hence, decyl acetate is not classified.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flash point at 101 325 Pa:
107.8 °C
