Description of key information

The test material is a clear colourless to pale yellow liquid with a melting range of 11 °C to 13 °C and boiling range between 284 °C and 290 °C at atmospheric pressure. The relative density of the test item is 1.046 at 20 °C, relative to water at 4 °C. The test item was found to have a vapour pressure of 9 Pa at 20 °C, a water solubility of 2.15 g/L at 20 °C and a log Kow of 2 at 23.1 °C.

The flashpoint at atmospheric pressure is 150.5 °C and auto-ignition is observed at a temperature of 450 °C.

The test substance does not contain functional groups which are associated with explosive or oxidising properties. Moreover, based on the chemical structure surface activity is not expected.

The substance does not need to be classified for physical hazards.
