Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The experimental determined bioconcentration factor (BCF) of o-cresol in zebrafish (Brachydanio rerio) is 10.7.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

BCF (aquatic species):
10.7 dimensionless

Additional information

The bioconcentration factor (BCF) of o-cresol in zebrafish (Brachydanio rerio) was determined in a flow-through test according to OECD guideline 305 E. The fish were exposed to a concentration of 2.23 mg/l. Analysis of the test substance in water and fish was carried out using a gaschromatographic method. The BCF was determined by calculation from the kinetics of the uptake and depuration phase of the substance. A BCF of 10.7 was obtained, indicating a low potential for bioaccumlation.
