Conclusion on classification

The available data from the aquatic toxicity studies are as follows:

LC50 (96 h) fish = 1.8 mg/l (nominal concentration) with 95% confidence limits of 1.0 -3.2 mg/l.

EC50 (24 h) Daphnia = 32 mg/l (nominal concentration)

NOEC Daphnia = 0.93 mg/L

ErC50 (72 h) algae = 1.9 mg/l (nominal concentration)

EL50 microorganisms was determined to be >250 mg/L (not used for classification)

Based on the results from the aquatic toxicity (Chronic NOEC or EC x (for crustacea) > 0,1 to ≤ 1 mg/l) and since the substance is not readily biodegradable and has a log Kow of > 4, the substance is classified as follows:

- according to Directive 67/548/EEC the substance is classified as R51/53.

- according to the CLP Regulation 1272/2008 the substance is classified as Aquatic Chronic 2 (Hazard statement: H411)

Based on the lowest L(E)C50 value (1.8 mg/l), the substance does not match the criteria for classification for acute aquatic hazard.
