Conclusions:
LC50 for FAT 40210/C was considered to be >1000 mg/L.
Executive summary:

FAT 40210/C was tested for acute toxicity to fish in a study conducted using a methodology similar to OECD Guideline 203. The test concentrations of 300 and 1000 mg/L were used. 10 Zebra fish per concentration were tested. No mortality was observed. Hence the LC50 for FAT 40210/C was considered to be >1000 mg/L.

Description of key information

The LC50 of FAT 40210 in this fish acute toxicity test was determined to be >1000 mg/L.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The test substance was tested in two acute toxicity studies in fish at concentrations of 300 and 1000 mg/l. Reactive Black 8 did not show any mortality in zebra fish (brachydanio rerio) at concentrations of 300 mg/l. At 1000 mg/l in one test, some mortality was observed but less than 50 % of tested animals were found dead. In the other study, no mortality was observed at 1000 mg/l concentration. Consequently, the substance is of low toxicological concern to fish and not subject to classification according to CLP (Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008).
