First-aid measures

General information: First aid personnel must be aware of own risk during rescue.

Description of first aid measures:

Inhalation: Move injured person into fresh air and keep person calm under observation. Get medical attention if any discomfort occurs.

Skin contact: Remove contaminated clothing immediately and wash skin with soap and water. In case of allergic reaction or other skin disorders: Seek medical attention and bring along these instructions.

Eye contact: Immediately flush with plenty of water for up to 15 minutes. Remove any contact lenses and open eyes wide apart. Get medical attention if irritation develops or persists.

Ingestion: Only induce vomiting at the instruction of medical personnel. Rinse mouth thoroughly. Get medical attention if irritation develops and persists.

Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed:  Wheezing. Sensitisation. Skin irritation. Moderate eye irritation. Upper respiratory tract irritation.

Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed: Treat symptomatically. Symptoms may be delayed.

Fire-fighting measures

General fire hazards: The product is not flammable.

Suitable extinguishing media: Foam.

Carbon dioxide (CO2). Dry powder. Water fog.

Unsuitable extinguishing media: None known.

Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture: During fire, gases hazardous to health may be formed.

Advice for firefighters

Special protective equipment for firefighters:

Self-contained breathing apparatus and full protective clothing must be worn in case of fire. Selection of respiratory protection for fire fighting: follow the general fire precautions indicated in the workplace.

Special firefighting procedures: Use standard firefighting procedures and consider the hazards of other involved materials.

For non-emergency personnel: Avoid inhalation and contact with skin and eyes. Wear suitable protective clothing.

For emergency responders: Keep unnecessary personnel away. Use personal protection recommended.

Methods and material for containment and cleaning up: Cover with inert, absorbent material and remove to disposal container.

Handling and storage

Precautions for safe handling:

Persons with epoxy allergy should not work with this product. Follow special provisions related to work with this material. Handle and open container with care. Provide adequate ventilation. Avoid inhalation and contact with skin and eyes. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment. Change contaminated clothing. Wash contaminated clothing before reuse. Observe good industrial hygiene practices.

Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities:

Keep container tightly closed and in a well-ventilated place. Store away from incompatible materials.

Exposure controls / personal protection

1. Technical protection measures: Provide adequate ventilation and minimise the risk of inhalation of vapours.

2. Organisational protection measures:

Use personal protective equipment as required. Follow special provisions related to work with this material. Personal protective equipment should be chosen according to the CEN standards and in discussion with the supplier of the personal protective equipment. Make sure to provide adequate control by applying the "COSHH Essentials" procedure.

3. Hand protection:

Wear protective gloves. Butyl rubber gloves are recommended, but be aware that the liquid may penetrate the gloves. Frequent change is advisable. Suitable gloves can be recommended by the glove supplier.

4. Feet protection: Wear appropriate clothing to prevent any possibility of skin contact.

5. Body protection: Wear appropriate clothing to prevent any possibility of skin contact.

6. Eye protection: Wear approved safety glasses or goggles.

7. Respiratory protection: In case of inadequate ventilation: Use respiratory equipment with gas filter, type A2.

Stability and reactivity

Reactivity: Reacts with oxidising agents.

Chemical stability: Material is stable under normal conditions.

Disposal considerations

Residual waste: Dispose of waste and residues in accordance with local authority requirements.

Contaminated packaging: Since emptied containers may retain product residue, follow label warnings even after container is emptied.

Disposal methods/information: Disposal recommendations are based on material as supplied. Disposal must be in accordance with current applicable laws and regulations, and material characteristics at time of disposal.
