First-aid measures

Description of first aid measures:

- General information: personal protection for the First Aider. Immediately remove any clothing soiled by the product.

- After inhalation: supply fresh air. If required, provide artificial respiration. Keep patient warm. Consult doctor if symptoms persist. In case of unconsciousness place patient stably in side position for transportation. If breathing stops, provide artificial respiration.

- After skin contact: immediately wash with water and soap and rinse thoroughly.

If skin irritation continues, consult a doctor. Take off immediately all contaminated clothing

- After eye contact: rinse opened eye for several minutes under running water. If symptoms persist, consult a doctor. Protect unharmed eye.

- After swallowing: rinse out mouth and then drink plenty of water. Never give anything to the mouth of an unconscious person. A person vomiting while laying on their back should be turned onto their side. Seek immediate medical advice.

Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed: no further relevant information available.

-  Information for doctor: no specific therapy is known.

Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed: symptomatic treatment (decontamination, vital functions).

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing media

- Suitable extinguishing agents: use fire extinguishing methods suitable to surrounding conditions. CO2, powder or water spray. Fight larger fires with water spray or alcohol resistant foam.

- For safety reasons unsuitable extinguishing agents: for this substance / mixture no limitations of extinguishing agents are given.

Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture: formation of toxic gases is possible during heating or in case of fire. In case of fire, the following can be released: carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide, Hydrogen chloride (HCl)

Advice for firefighters

- Protective equipment: do not inhale explosion gases or combustion gases. Wear fully protective suit.

Wear self-contained respiratory protective device.

- Additional information: dispose of fire debris and contaminated fire fighting water in accordance with official regulations. Collect contaminated fire fighting water separately. It must not enter the sewage system.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures: wear protective equipment. Keep unprotected persons away. Ensure adequate ventilation. Avoid formation of dust. Keep away from ignition sources. Use respiratory protective device against the effects of fumes/dust/aerosol.Avoid contact with any product.

Environmental precautions: do not allow to enter sewers/ surface or ground water. Inform respective authorities in case of seepage into water course or sewage system. Do not allow to penetrate the ground/soil. In case of seepage into the ground inform responsible authorities. Keep contaminated washing water and dispose of appropriately.

Methods and material for containment and cleaning up: pick up mechanically. Send for recovery or disposal in suitable receptacles. Prevent formation of dust.

Handling and storage

Precautions for safe handling: keep receptacles tightly sealed. Store in cool, dry place in tightly closed receptacles. Ensure good ventilation/exhaustion at the workplace. Prevent formation of dust. Wear suitable respiratory protective device when decanting larger quantities without extractor facilities. Any unavoidable deposit of dust must be regularly removed.Use appropriate industrial vacuum cleaners or central vacuum systems for dust removal.Take note of emission threshold. Wear suitable respiratory protective device when aerosols are formed.

-  Information about fire - and explosion protection: keep ignition sources away - Do not smoke. Protect against electrostatic charges. Normal measures for preventive fire protection.

Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities

- Requirements to be met by storerooms and receptacles: store in a cool, dry place.

- Information about storage in one common storage facility: store away from feed and foodstuffs. Store away from oxidising agents.

- Further information about storage conditions: keep container tightly sealed. Store in dry conditions. Protect from humidity and water. This product is hygroscopic. Store receptacle in a well ventilated area.

Store under lock and key and with access restricted to technical experts or their assistants only.

- Storage class: 11 - Combustible solids

Specific end use(s) No further relevant information available.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Control parameters

-  Ingredients with limit values that require monitoring at the workplace: observe general threshold limits for dust.

- Additional information: the lists valid during the making were used as basis.

Exposure controls

Personal protective equipment:

- General protective and hygienic measures: keep away from foodstuffs, beverages and feed. Immediately remove all soiled and contaminated clothing. Vacuum clean contaminated clothing. Do not blow or brush off contamination. Wash hands before breaks and at the end of work. Avoid contact with the eyes and skin. Do not inhale dust / smoke / mist. Ensure that washing facilities are available at the work place. Provide eye bath.Technical measures and appropriate working operations should be given priority over the use of personal protective equipment.

- Respiratory protection: if vapours or aerosols occur wear suitable respiratory device. In case of brief exposure or low pollution use respiratory filter device. In case of intensive or longer exposure use self-contained respiratory protective device. Short term filter device: Filter P2

- Protection of hands: chemicals resistant gloves. The glove material has to be impermeable and resistant to the product/ the substance/ the preparation. Selection of the glove material on consideration of the penetration times, rates of diffusion and the degradation. Softening of the callus when wearing air-impermeable gloves is possible. Check protective gloves prior to each use for their proper condition.

Use gloves of stable material (e.g. Nitrile) - if necessary tricoted to improve the wearability. After use of gloves apply skin-cleaning agents and skin cosmetics.

- Material of gloves: Nitrile rubber, NBR. Recommended thickness of the material: ≥ 0.4 mm. The selection of the suitable gloves does not only depend on the material, but also on further marks of quality and

varies from manufacturer to manufacturer.

- Penetration time of glove material: Breakthrough time ≥ 8 h. The exact break trough time has to be found out by the manufacturer of the protective gloves and has to be observed.

- Eye protection: tightly sealed goggles

- Body protection: protective work clothing (Boots, apron and use protective suit). Selection of protective clothing is subject to the specific kind of work and the corresponding risk potential.

Stability and reactivity

Reactivity: no further relevant information available.

Chemical stability

- Thermal decomposition / conditions to be avoided: no decomposition if used according to specifications. To avoid thermal decomposition do not overheat.

Possibility of hazardous reactions: reacts with strong oxidising agents. Risk of dust explosion if enriched with fine dust in the presence of air. Dusty organic products are generally expected to have dust explosion ability.

Conditions to avoid: No further relevant information available.

Incompatible materials: oxidizing agents

Hazardous decomposition products: if stored and handled properly: none known.

- Additional information: product is hygroscopic - protect against moisture.

Disposal considerations

Waste treatment methods

-Recommendation: must not be disposed together with household garbage. Do not allow product to reach sewage system. Disposal must be made according to official regulations.

- Uncleaned packaging: Recommendation: disposal must be made according to official regulations. Empty contaminated packagings thoroughly. They may be recycled after thorough and proper cleaning.
