Additional information

MON 13900 will be applied only once per year at a low application rate, resulting in negligible exposure to surface water. In addition, the substance has been shown to degrade rapidly in water and soil and has no tendency to bioaccumulate. Therefore, it can be assumed that there will be no significant long-term exposure of the substance to soil macro and micro-organisms, terrestrial plants or birds and no secondary poisoning is expected. As a result, no risk assessment for secondary poisoning was performed.

Conclusion on classification

The data available for MON 13900 suggests that the substance is hazardous to the aquatic environment with N; R51/53 (Dangerous for the environment; Toxic to aquatic organisms, may cause long-term adverse effects in the aquatic environment.) classification according to Annex VI of Directive 67/548/EEC and aquatic chronic category 2 (H411: Toxic to aquatic life with long lasting effects) classification according to CLP criteria (EC 1272/2008).
