The NOAEL for the assessment of immunotoxicity by the antibody, plaque-forming cell assay (AFC) in male CD-1 mice exposed to acetone in drinking water for 28 days was 1144 mg/kg bw/d. There was no effect on haematological parameters and thymus weights as further indicators of potential adverse effects on the immune system (Woolhiser et al., 2006).
