Additional information

No valid studies on long-term fish toxicity are available. Available toxicity results on aquatic species reveal neither a need to classify the substance as dangerous to the environment, nor is it a PBT or vPvB substance, nor are there any further indications that the substance may be hazardous to the environment. According to reliable study results, acetone is considered to be rapidly degraded in aquatic compartments; the bioaccumulation potential is regarded to be insignificant. Furthermore, numerous acute fish toxicity studies indicate very low fish toxicity. Therefore, with respect to animal welfare the performance of a chronic fish study is assumed to be not justifiable.
