Additional information

Castor oil, dehydrated presents low solubility in water and was estimated to have a BCF of 3.162 L/kg wet weight. Given its low water solubility and high adsorption coefficient, the substance is unlikely to be significantly bioavailable to aquatic organisms. When ingested, the constituent triglycerides are well known to be broken down into glycerol and fatty acids which then undergo b-oxidation and are used as a source of energy in aquatic organisms. As such, the substance is not likely to bioaccumulate in aquatic or terrestrial organisms, even after repeated exposure.
