Additional information

To assess the chronic toxicity of aziridine towards aquatic invertebrates study results are not available. The results of acute tests indicate toxic effects of aziridine towards aquatic organisms, whereas the tested fish species Leuciscus ideus is more sensitive than the tested invertebrate species Daphnia magna. Based on this information, there is no indication that daphnids may be more sensitive towards chronic effects of the test substance than fish are. Additionally, the test substance is readily biodegradable but failing the 10-day window. It can therefore be assumed with sufficient confidence, that a chronic study with aquatic invertebrates would not provide any additional information improving risk assessment significantly.

For this reason, a chronic study with aquatic invertebrates is not provided for aziridine.
