Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

By read-across to Dioctyltin oxide, the LC50 of Dioctyltin mercaptopropionate to fish is considered to be greater than the water solubility, corrected for molecular weight the 96 h LC50 was > 0.11 mg/L.

Read-across to structurally similar substance DOTO (Dioctyltin oxide)

Under the conditions of an OECD 203 and EU method C.1 guideline study, the 96 h LC50 of DOTO was found to be greater than the water solubility of DOTO.

Additional information

Read-across to structurally similar substance DOTO (Dioctyltin oxide)

The acute toxicity of DOTO to fish in Brachydanio rerio (zebra fish) was determined in a semi-static test conducted in accordance with OECD 203 and EU method C.1 and in line with GLP. Due to the insolubility of DOTO the study was performed with a water soluble fraction as a limit test. Under the conditions of the test, the 96 h LC50 of DOTO was found to be greater than the water solubility of DOTO.

Based on read-across to Dioctyltin oxide, corrected for molecular weight the 96 h LC50 was > 0.11 mg/L.
