Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Skin irritation

One GLP- and guidelinen compliant key study (dated 1999) describes slightly irritating effects to the skin of rabbits. All effects were slight to moderate and were fully reversible within 48 hours.

A study (dated 1975) with human volunteers with administration to the skin for 48 hours under occlusive conditions did not elicit irritative effects.

1975 moderate effects were found in an animal study with occlusive administration to the skin for 24 hours and 1963 slightly irritating effects were found in another animal study (detailed data missing).

It is therefore concluded that no classification has to be derived for the test material.

Eye irritation

One GLP- and guideline compliant study (dated 1999) describes transient irritative effects to the eyes of rabbits which were fully reversible within 72 hours after administration.

1963 slightly irritating effects to the eyes of rabbits were found in another animal study (detailed data missing).

It is therefore concluded that no classification has to be derived for the test material.

Effects on skin irritation/corrosion: slightly irritating

Effects on eye irritation: slightly irritating

Justification for classification or non-classification

Based on the results of the most recent GLP studies and supported by older literature data no classification is derived for the test material.
