Additional information

To evaluate the skin irritation potential of the test substance, a study was performed according to OECD 404 (Nakamura, 2005a). No skin irritating or systemic effects were seen during the 72 -hr observation period following exposure to the test substance. Therefore, the test substance is considered not to be skin irritating.

To evaluate the eye irritation potential of the test substance, a study was performed according to OECD 405 (Nakamura, 2005b). A mild discharge from the eye of one animal was observed 1 hr after instilling 0.1 mL of the test substance into the eye. The reaction was fully reversible within 24 hours. The other two animals did not have any eye irritation reactions during the observation period. Based on the results of the study, the test substance does not cause eye irritation.

Justification for selection of skin irritation / corrosion endpoint:
The reliable GLP compliant OECD Guideline study was chosen.

Justification for selection of eye irritation endpoint:
The reliable GLP compliant OECD Guideline study was chosen.

Justification for classification or non-classification

The available data are conclusive but not sufficient for classification according to the criteria of DSD (67/548/EEC) and CLP (1272/2008/EC).
