Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

One GLP-study on the hydrolytic degradation for the test substance according to OECD Guideline 111 is available (Miner and Lentz, 2005). The hydrolysis of the substance in sterile buffer solution was investigated at pH 4, 7 and 9 at three different temperatures (50, 25 and 40 °C). This study demonstrated that the test material is hydrolytically stable at pH 4 (estimated DT50 at 25 °C > 1 year) and is susceptible to hydrolysis at pH 7 and 9 (DT50 = 1.7 – 9.4 d) and high temperatures (40 °C, 50 °C). The test substance hydrolyses at a slow to moderate rate under environmental conditions with specific half-lives of 60.8 – 71.4 days (pH 7, 25°C) and 53.7 – 55.0 days (pH 9, 25°C). Nevertheless, hydrolysis can be a route of elimination of the substance from the environment.

The major hydrolysis products observed at pH 7 and pH 9 were formed by amide cleavage to the corresponding carboxylic acid (3,4-dichloroisothiazole-5-carboxylic acid) and the amine (2-aminobenzonitrile).
