Description of key information

Key information: Water solubility (OECD 105/EU Method A.6, shake flask method): < 1.0 mg/L at 20 °C - insoluble
Disregarded information: Target and read-across substance (1,3,4-Thiadiazolidine-2,5-dithione, reaction products with hydrogen peroxide and tert-dodecanethiol, No CAS, no EC) are considered as slightly soluble (Ziegenfuss, 1990 and Bouillon, 1998).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Water solubility:
0.1 mg/L
at the temperature of:
20 °C

Additional information

The key value was determined according to OECD 105 / EU Method A.6 (Fox, 2012). The test substance can be considered as insoluble in water.

According to the harmonized OPPTS test Guideline 830.7840 (that is similar to OECD 105) the shake-flask method may pose difficulties in the case of surface-active materials. Therefore, the used method was maybe not appropriate for a surface-active material like the test substance; however, QSAR estimations confirm the insolubility of the test substance in water.
