EVALUATION
- Calculation of capacity factors k': The capacity factor was calculated from the retention time (k = (retention time of reference item - dead time)/dead time).
- Calculation of retention times: The retention times of the reference items and the test item were measured directly.
- Determination of the log Koc value: The log Koc was calculated from the regression equation of the regression line. The average of the two measurements were used as the log Koc value. - Sample No.:
- #1
- Type:
- log Koc
- Value:
- 2.65 dimensionless
- Temp.:
- 25 °C

Description of key information
log Koc: 2.65 (OECD 121)
Key value for chemical safety assessment
Additional information
One experimental study is available investigating the adsorption potential of 3,3,4,4,5,5,6,6,7,7,8,8,8-tridecafluorooct-1-ene (CAS 25291-17-2) to soil and sewage sludge (Daikin Industries, 2017). The study was performed according to OECD 121 (GLP) at 25 ± 1 °C. Six reference substances were used to establish a regression line to derive the log Koc of 3,3,4,4,5,5,6,6,7,7,8,8,8-tridecafluorooct-1-ene. All substances were tested in duplicate. The retention times of each reference substance and the test item were measured to calculate the capacity factor (k) which was used to calculate the log Koc using the slope and intercept of regression line. A log Koc of 2.66 and 2.64 was calculated for the test substance resulting in a mean value of 2.65. Thus, the test item has a low potential for adsorption.
