Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

According to column 2 of REACH Annex VIII section 9.3.3 testing for adsorption/desorption was waived, as the substance is expected to have a low potential for adsorption based on the low octanol water partition coefficient (logPow = 2.1 at 22 °C). Further, the substance and its relevant degradation products decompose rapidly (inherently biodegradable).
The test method for determination of the adsorption coefficient (Koc) according to EU Method C.19 was replaced by a theory based evaluation. The evaluation was based on 5-ethyl-2-methylpyridine (MEP, CAS no.: 104-90-5, EC no.: 203-250-0). The read-across between the UVCB substance and the model constituent is justified. The resulting Koc was 352.2 and 265.1 and log Koc was 2.55 and 2.42 for MCI method and logKow, respectively.
