Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The study does not need to be conducted. Calculations indicate a flash point above 100oC. p-TSH starts to decompose and melt at 105-100oC. The decomposition releases primarily water and nitrogen, which are not flammable. Some hydrazine may also be released at a smaller amount - hydrazine is flammable. In conclusion: if p-TSH has a flash point it will be above 100oC, and should therefore not be classified for flammability.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flash point at 101 325 Pa:
105 °C

Additional information

Adaption to column 2, Annex VII. The study does not need to be conducted based on the physical state of the substance. According to ECHA guidance, flash point is only relevant to substances that are liquid at room temperature. Also, decomposition occurred during the melting point study.
