Additional information

One valid study on the toxicity of theophylline to fish is available.

In the static test on the toxicity of theophylline to Leuciscus idus which was conducted according to the German standard guideline DIN 38412 part 15, fish (n = 10 per replicate) were exposed for 96 hours to five concentrations of theophylline ranging between 46.4 and 1000 mg/l (1 replicate) and to control water (1 replicate). Gasping and tumbling were observed at a concentration of 215 mg/l. The 96 hour LC50 of 100 mg/l is based on the nominal test concentrations.
