A sample is heated gradually in a tube which is immersed in a oil bath. A sample is heated gradually in a tube which is immersed ina liquid bath. The sample tube is held in close contact with athermometer and it contains a boiling capillary which is fused about1 cm above its lower end. Upon approach of the boilingtemperature bubbles emerge rapidly from the lower open end of thecapillary. Principle of Boiling point test

The sample tube is held in close contact with a thermometer and it contains a boiling capillary which is fused about1 cm above its lower end. Upon approach of the boiling temperature bubbles emerge rapidly from the lower open end of the capillary. The boiling temperature is that temperature at which, on momentary cooling, the string of bubbles stops and liquid suddenly rises in the capillary.

Other supporting studies from various reliable sources such as handbook and authotative databases also suggests that the boiling point of chemical Nonan-2-one was reported to be in the range of 192 degree C to 196 degreeC.
