Results and discussion

Positive control results:
Hexylcinnamaldehyde was shown to have the capacity to cause skin sensitisation when applied as a 10% w/v preparation in 4:1 acetone in olive oil, confirming the validity of the protocol used for this study.

Number of lymph nodes assayed per concentration: 8

Conc of hexylcinnamaldehyde (% v/w) and DPM:
0 (vehicle only): 5319
2.5: 7365
5: 7502

Results
Parameter:
other: disintegrations per minute (DPM)
Remarks on result:
other: DPM/lymph node increased from 665 for the vehicle to 2085 for the highest concentration (1%)

Any other information on results incl. tables

Number of lymph nodes assayed per concentration: 8

0% v/w (vehicle only): DPM = 6929; DPM/lymph node = 665

0.25% v/w: DPM = 59763; DPM/lymph node = 921; test control ratio = 8.63

0.5% v/w: DPM = 131761; DPM/lymph node = 938; test control ratio = 19.02
