Executive summary:

The determination of the burning behavior was carried out according to VDI 2263 part 1 on a ceramic base. The determination of the burning behavior was carried out on a ceramic base. The prepared sample was applied to the ceramic plate as a 2 cm wide and 4 cm long piece. For ignition, a microburner with temperatures greater than 1000 °C was used. The reaction behavior was visually observed.

According to the CLP Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008, 2.7 section, a flammable solid means a solid which is readily combustible, or may cause or contribute to fire through friction.

According to the Guidance on the Application of the CLP Criteria, v.5, July 2017, the burning index as obtained from the Burning Behaviour test (VDI 2263, part 1) may be used to investigate the flammability potential. If a burning index of 3 or less is found, the substance should not be classified as a flammable solid and no further testing is required.

The substance's burning index resulted to be 3 (i.e. local burning or glowing, limited spread of the flame (no spreading of fire)), thus it should not be classified as a flammable solid.
