Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Being an inorganic crystalline substance chromium trinitrate has a negligible vapour pressure at ambient conditions. As the substance decomposes due to loss of crystal water (the crystalline Chromium trinitrate exists as nonahydrate) at approx. 140 °C vapour pressure can be considered negligible. In addition, chromium trinitrate is placed on the market in form of a 70-75% aqueous solution thus making vapour pressure determination meaningless. For hazard and risk assessment a worst case value of 1 Pa will be used.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Vapour pressure:
1 Pa
at the temperature of:
20 °C
