Description of key information

The test item DV6850 is not highly flammable.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
non flammable

Additional information

The flammability of the test item DV6850 was determined in a valid GLP study according to EU method A.10.

A flame (minimum diameter 5 mm) was applied to one end of a pile of the test substance for a period of two minutes. The flame did not propagate along 200 mm of the pile within 4 minutes and consequently, no burning rate test had to be conducted.

DV6850 charred and melted but failed to ignite. It was concluded that DV6850 is not highly flammable.

Justification for classification or non-classification

The substance DV6850 could not be ignited in a standard flammability test for solid substances. In addition, the substance neither does spontaneously ignite in contact with water or humid air nor does it release ignitable gases. The substance DV6950 hence does not require classification for flammability.
