Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

For risk assessment purposes a conservative approach is taken and the test item is considered as not readily biodegradable (worst case).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Biodegradation in water:
not biodegradable

freshwater

Additional information

According to REACH, Annex VII, Section 9.2.1.1, a study on the ready biodegradability of the test item has to be performed. No study according to OECD 301 with the test item is available, however, a study on the sediment simulation according to EU Commission Directive 95/36/EC SETAC, 1995, and a soil simulation study according to OECD 307 with the test item are available. The test item showed to degrade rapidly in soil (DT50 = 0.71 d), moderately in freshwater (DT50 = 7.9 d) and slowly in sediment (DT50 = 111 d). A series of metabolites were detected in both studies. Based on a weight of evidence, it can be considered that the test item degrades rapidly in the environment. Nevertheless, for risk assessment purposes a conservative approach is taken and the test item is considered as not readily biodegradable (worst case).
