Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Conclusion on classification

The substance shows instant hydrolysis and the hydrolysis product (CAS 1042662 -40 -7) was not biodegradable in a ready biodegradability test. The calculated log Kow of the hydrolysis product is > 22.

Two acute aquatic tests are available with the hydrolysis product; an algae and an acute Daphnia study. Both did not show toxicity up to the water solubility limit.

Because the hydrolysis product does not show acute toxicity the registered substance (CAS 1001417 -33 -9) does not need acute environmental classification.

The hydrolysis product is not readily biodegradable, but has a very high log Kow which indicates hindered uptake. The substance does not have a potential to bioaccumulate, therefore and because no acute aquatic effects were found the registered substance does not need chronic environmental classification.
