Description of key information

Flammability testing is not required for this substance, as it is a liquid at room temperature.  A value for the flash point of the material has been determined (refer to IUCLID section 4.11).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Justification for classification or non-classification

The substance is a liquid at room temperature; classification for flammability is therefore based on the "Flammable Liquid" criteria according to Section 2.6 of Annex I to the CLP Regulation - flammability is based on the boiling point and flash point of the substance (refer to IUCLID sections 4.3 and 4.11).

MTF was found to have a flash point of 116°C; on the basis that this is significantly higher than the cut-off level (60°C) it is concluded that MTF is not a flammable liquid.
