EC number: 700-736-9
CAS number: 2149571-40-2
In the chromosomal aberration test, the incidence of cells with
structural and numerical aberration was less than 5%.
Based on this result, the test substance was judged to be negative for
the ability to induce chromosomal aberration.
In the absence of S9 mix following 3 hour treatment, MTF caused a
reduction in the mitotic index to 53% of the vehicle control value at 60
µg/mL. In the presence of S9 mix (2% v/v) following 3 hour treatment,
MTF caused a reduction in the mitotic index to 51% of the vehicle
control value at 100 µg/mL. In both the absence and presence of S9 mix,
MTF caused no statistically significant increase in the proportion of
cells with chromosomal aberrations at any concentration, when compared
with the vehicle control.
In both experiments, in the absence and presence of S9 mix, no
statistically significant and biologically relevant increase in the
number of cells carrying structural chromosome aberrations was observed.
The aberration rates of the cells after treatment with the test item
(0.0- 2.0% aberrant cells, exclusive gaps) were
within the range of the solvent control values (0.0- 3.5% aberrant
cells, exclusive gaps) and within the range of our historical control
data: 0.0 - 4.0 % aberrant cells, exclusive gaps.
