Endpoint:
short-term toxicity to fish
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
28.5. – 14.6.2001
Reliability:
2 (reliable with restrictions)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
other: meets generally accepted scientific principles, acceptable for assessment
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
other: Test No. L 47 "Fish, Acute Toxicity test. Chemical formulations and waste waters."
Deviations:
yes
Remarks:
the dye is precipitated and gradually settled at the bottom
Principles of method if other than guideline:
- Principle of test:A sample of the tested substance was dissolved in the dilution water at a concentration of 0.1 g/L. This solution is initially clear, but during the test, the dye is precipitated and gradually settled at the bottom, in all dilutions. The total volume for one dilution was 1000 ml for preliminary and 4000 ml for limit test. Number of organisms: 3 (preliminary), 10 (limit test)- Short description of test conditions:The dilution water should have a pH of 7.8 and is saturated with oxygen at a temperature 20 – 24°C.Test duration 96 hours, the temperature of the solutions 22.0 ± 1.0 °C.- Parameters analysed / observed: mortality at 48 and 96 h
GLP compliance:
no
Remarks:
