Additional information

There are no reliable data available.

In en exploratory study male strain A/St mice (20 animals/group, these animals show a very high sensitivity to carcinogens resulting in short latency period and higher tumor rates) were treated by intraperitoneal injection with 20 (18 doses), 40 (3 doses) or 80 mg/kg bw (single dose) of TPP, 3 times/week and observed for a further 18 weeks. Afterwards lungs were examined for adenomas. The survival rate was 18/20 in the low dose group, 3/20 in the mid dose group and 12/20 in the high dose group. Adenomas were seen only in the high dose group with no significant increase of incidence (Theisis, 1977).
